Instagram: 10-year old boy wins $10,000 from photo-sharing platform after reporting flaw

Media reports reveal that a 10-year old boy has been awarded $10,000 dollars from Instagram after he found a security flaw in the service.

According to reports, the boy, whose name is given Jani, discovered the flaw in the Instagram app, the mobile-photo sharing service owned by Facebook, back in March.

The boy found out that he could delete people's comments when he put in malicious code into the comment field of the application.

Jani reported the Instagram about the technical fault by email, and after a few days, Instagram replied him saying the flaw was fixed and as a reward, he got $10,000 dollars from Instagram.

According to Leadership Online, Jani said he had been enthusiastic about coding games for years. He had been building his skills on his own with his twin brother.

Jani revealed that he dreams of becoming an information security expert later on in life. "It would be my dream job because security is really important," Jani said.
