BAGUIO CITY, June 24 (PIA) - - How good are you in capturing moments using your smart phones? Show your best shot in the Office of Civil Defense – Cordillera's first "disaster resiliency" mobile phone photography contest.
The contest is open to all Filipino students aged 16 years old and above and currently enrolled in high school or college (except for anyone related to OCD officials and employees).
Photo entries must depict the contest theme, which refers to Filipinos' ability to adapt and recover from hazards and emergencies including the various programs, activities and projects that deal on disaster prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response or rehabilitation, and recovery.
Each participant is allowed to submit a maximum of three entries and digital photos taken from January 1, 2016 up to July 20; must be in full color and landscape orientation with no watermarks or identifying marks, not previously been entered in a contest, not edited and no image of elected officials.
Photo entries should come with a corresponding title and caption that must include the place where the image was taken and the accurate description of what the photo is about.
Participants must register at the official website of Office of Civil Defense www.ocd.gov.ph and fill - out the online registration form. OCD will only accept entries submitted until 5 p.m. of July 20.
Entries will be judged based on adherence to the theme, composition, photographic quality and visual impact. Prizes await the top 12 finalists.
The top 12 entries will also be subjected to online popularity contest and entry with the most likes will get a prize of P30, 000.
