The 6×6 Centre for Photography is organising an all-day practical mobile photography workshop with acclaimed mobile photographer from Ireland, Brendan Ó Sé.
The workshop will take place on February 11, 10am-3pm at the 6×6 Centre for Photography, 19 Ipeirou Street, Limassol.
The workshop will focus exclusively on photography via mobile devices and ways of processing, editing and sharing the images on social media.
With Brendan's guidance, participants will discover how to get the most out of the camera on their mobile device by guiding them on the basics of composition, light and technique, and showing tips and tricks to maximise the potential of their smartphone's camera.
All smartphone users are welcome – no matter what their smartphone brand is.
In addition, the workshop aims to inform participants on: Best apps for mobile photography. A hands-on walk-through of how to use the best app there is for mobile photography: Snapseed.
Experiential photo walk – hit the streets and put into practice what you have learnt, to include live editing and processing.
The workshop is supported by Olloclip (makers of clip-on lenses) and donated prizes will be awarded to participants from a draw.
Brendan's workshops are dynamic and fun. Participants will leave enthusiastic to get shooting and have a greater understanding on how to get the most from the best camera there is, the one in their pocket or handbag!
The workshop will take place within the framework of the international exhibition 'The 6th Annual Mobile Photography Awards', which will take place at the gallery of 6×6 Centre for Photography, Limassol.
The exhibition will officially open on Friday February 10 at 7.30p.m. It will be showcased at the Centre's gallery until March 4, with free entrance for all.
Acclaimed photographer
The acclaimed Brendan Ó Sé is a multi award-winning fine art/mobile photographer from Cork, Ireland.
In January 2016, Brendan won first place in the Street Photography category in the annual Mobile Photography Awards. In April 2015, he won the Mira Mobile Photography Prize.
He was awarded 'Best in Show' at the Florence International Photography Awards in June 2015 and also won the Mediterraneo Foto Festival in May 2015. In October 2015, Brendan was awarded first place in the Everyday Life category in the Stark Awards 2015.
He was the first ever photographer to be invited by the Royal Photographic Society of Thailand in March 2016 to talk about mobile photography. Monogram Asia invited Brendan to give a talk in Veteran's Cafe, Jakarta in April 2016.
In April 2015, he was invited to London to talk about his iPhone photography as part of Apple's Meet the iPhone Photographer series, hosted by the popular designer/photographer, Dan Rubin.
